After so much upheaval and uncertainty, our students received their GCSE results this morning. Whilst we will not be publishing data on these results in the usual manner, we would like to offer our warmest congratulations to all of our Year 11 students who have worked so hard for these exceptional grades which they richly deserve.
Head Master Ben McCarey said:
“There will be much written about grade inlflation and about the validity of these results compared to other years however, for the students who are opening their results this morning, that should not matter at all. They have worked so hard throughout their school careers and are now moving onto the next stages of their education with grades which they can be truly proud of. For every student opening their results today, these should be a line in a sand; a line which says that the past six months of uncertainty, chaos and deprivation are behind us and a line which allows them to move forwards on the next exciting steps of their educational journey. To those Holyport College students who will be enrolling in our Sixth Form in September, we can’t wait to see you back; to those students who will be joining our Sixth Form from other schools, we cannot wait to meet you. To those Holyport College students who will be moving on, I sincerely hope that this is not goodbye: you will forever be a part of the Holyport College Family and we look forward to celebrating with you when it is safe and appropriate to do so.”
