New Deputy Head Appointed

We are delighted to announce the appointment of our new Deputy Head, Mr Steve Gardner. Steve studied at Central School of Speech and Drama, London, where he discovered his passion for directing theatre and teaching. He has accrued 15 years working in education and brings with him a wealth of experience from both the independent and state boarding sectors including as Head of 6^th Form, Director of Boarding and, his current role, Head of Lower School at King Edward’s School, Witley.

Steve will live on site with his family: Kitty, his wife (an actress), Amelia (10), Alfie (9) and the family pets: Boots (a wise, old tabby-cat), Molly (a Cavalier King Charles) and Maisie (their new Cavachon puppy).

Steve is an avid footballer and still plays competitively, albeit in a local Vets (old mans) league. This season saw a career highlight as he won the Player of the Season award. Sadly, he has the unfortunate burden of being a lifelong Pompey fan and has had a season ticket pretty much all of his life. Well, someone has to, I suppose…

Steve cannot wait to get started and looks forward to meeting the Holyport Community.
