Sixth Form Admissions

Holyport College Sixth Form offers A level courses only and does not offer vocational courses. Applications for places in Year 12 are made directly to Holyport College. The Minimum Qualifying Standard (MQS) for admission to the Sixth Form are: 

  • A minimum of seven GCSE grades A*-C (or equivalent) including English and Maths, at least five of which must be grade B (or equivalent) or higher. 
  • A minimum grade B (or equivalent) in the subjects to be taken at A level. Students wishing to study Biology, Chemistry or Physics will be required to have achieved a minimum of an A grade in that subject at GCSE or an A grade for Additional Science GCSE. Students wishing to study Maths will be required to have achieved a minimum of a grade 7 in their Maths GCSE. 

The MQS for admission will be based on students’ GCSE grades received on GCSE Results Day.
